The Garage Entrepreneur(TM) is a column written by Jake Richter, Stroke of Color's resident entrepreneur and technologist. The column appeared regularly in the CAD++ Newsletter, published by XYZ Publishing, Ltd., and will soon continue as a feature of this Web site.
The name of this column stems from the efforts of the many entrepreneurs who started a company in their garages (or second bedrooms, or basements, or bathrooms, etc.) and achieved some measure of real success. Among them are Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, founders of Apple Computer Corp. (and while the company's not doing that well, the former founders are) and Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com. Garage Entrepreneurs like these folks have been an inspiration for millions of people who aspire to turn the proverbial garage into an empire.
